Chemical Logging (Aquatics)

Track water chemistry, with AI that reads test strips from photos.

Aquatics organizations get Chemicals in the sidebar — a log of water chemistry readings per pool, for compliance and safety reporting.

Setting up pools

Add each body of water with Add New Pool so readings are tracked per pool.

Logging readings

  1. Go to Chemicals and open the Chemical Log.
  2. Add an entry with your readings — pH, free/total chlorine, alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, or bromine.

AI Vision: log from a photo

Instead of typing values, photograph your test strip:

  1. When adding an entry, take or upload a photo of the test strip.
  2. The AI reads the strip and pre-fills the values it detects.
  3. Verify the readings against the strip — you confirm before anything is saved.

Getting accurate reads

  • Photograph the strip promptly (within the read window on your kit's instructions), in good lighting, flat, with the pads in focus.
  • Include the whole strip in the frame; avoid shadows and glare.
  • AI Vision assists — it doesn't replace your judgment. Always verify before saving, especially near action thresholds.

Compliance

The chemical log is your audit trail: who logged, when, and what values. Export or review it when health inspections come around.

  • Checklists — pair chemical logging with opening/closing checklists.
  • Issue tracking — log equipment problems found during testing.
