Roles & Permissions
What Owners and Members can do in Teamcrest.
Every member of your organization has a role that determines what they can see and do.
Owner
Owners manage the organization:
- Configure team settings — name, logo, locations, position types, business type, and feature flags.
- Invite, remove, and change roles of members.
- Create, edit, and publish schedules; approve sub requests.
- Review and approve timesheets; run payroll exports.
- Manage billing and subscription.
- Transfer ownership or delete the team (primary owner).
Member
Members are your staff:
- View their published shifts in My Schedule.
- Set their own availability and request time off.
- Request subs for their shifts and claim open shifts.
- Clock in and out (when time tracking is enabled).
- Report issues, complete checklists, and use the knowledge base chatbot.
Changing a member's role
- Go to Members.
- Open the actions menu next to a member and choose Change Role.
- Pick the new role and confirm with Update Role.
To hand off the organization entirely, use Transfer Ownership — this makes another member the primary owner and cannot be undone by you afterward.
