Sub Requests & Open Shifts
Get a shift covered or pick up extra shifts.
Requesting a sub
Can't make a shift? Request a sub instead of leaving a gap:
- Open the shift in My Schedule.
- Click Request Sub and add a note if helpful.
- Your request appears in the team's Open Sub Requests list, and eligible teammates are notified.
- When a teammate accepts and your manager approves, the shift moves to them — you'll be notified.
Until the sub is approved, the shift is still yours. Track the status of your requests under My Sub Requests in the user menu.
Covering for a teammate
Browse Open Sub Requests in the Scheduling section of the sidebar. If a request fits your position and availability, accept it — once approved, the shift appears in your schedule.
Claiming open shifts
Open Shifts are unassigned shifts your manager has published for pickup:
- Go to Open Shifts in the sidebar (or the Open Shifts view in My Schedule).
- Each shift shows the position, time, location, and spots left.
- Claim a shift to add it to your schedule. If a shift is full, you may be able to join the waitlist.
Volunteer shifts
Some organizations publish volunteer shifts that can be claimed by people outside the team. If you received a volunteer shift link, create an account, confirm your email, then accept the team invitation email to claim your shift. Your claimed shifts appear under My Volunteer Shifts.
